Lot of 2 1910s Luxembourg Museum Artwork Black and White Postcards - Virgin Mary Paintings - Vintage Musee du Luxembourg Lithograph Postcard

This listing features a Lot of Two circa 1910s Museum of Luxembourg Virgin Mary Paintings Black and White Lithographed Postcards. One of these postcards' dates to before 1907, and the other was manufactured after 1907, as identified by the presence of a dividing address and correspondence line on the reverse. The dividing line on the back of postcards was only allowed to be added to postcards starting in 1907, so the postcard without the back divider was printed before then. One postcard in this lot depicts the painting "La Vierge Consolatrice" (The Consoling Virgin) by Bouguereau. The other postcard depicts another painting of the Virgin Mary, "Le Pressentiment de la Vierge" (The Presentiment of the Virgin) by Landelle. Both of these works could be viewed at the Musee du Luxembourg at the time of their printing. Both postcards are unposted, but each have writing on the front with the date "Saturday Morning August 12th", likely the date and time when the original owners of the postcards visited the museum! Stunning antique cards that show famous artworks! Great condition. Amazing and unique find!
