Stamped on the back of the charm is "JR68 925". During the Spanish conquering of Mexico and subsequent countries the dance began as a spiritual and ritualistic dance but soon became a dance of resistance against the spreading Spanish colonization. The dance now exists as a historical tale of Oaxacan history and includes the tale of the Spaniards colonization.
