This listing is for the photographed 1941 Bank of France 50 Franc Banknote. This note is dated February 13th, 1941. The notes of this series feature Jacques Cœur, a French government official. His famous motto "A Ceurs Vaillans Riens Impossible" (to the brave hearts nothing is impossible) is printed in the lower center of the border on this note. Behind Cœur is the Palace de Bourges, which is in the city (Bourges) of his birthplace. The city is further commemorated on the reverse of this note with a depiction of a peasant woman and livestock with the city of Bourges in the background. Beautifully designed note with signs of wear with age. This note has a great history and provides interesting insight into French culture and the city of Bourges.
