This listing is for the photographed 1944 10 Yuan Bank of Manchukuo Banknote, Japan puppet state currency. Portrait of Emperor Ch'ien Lung on the right end of the obverse of the note. Beautifully engraved border with two dragons embellished on each side. Slightly altered reverse from the 1937 issue of the same note. Issued during World War II, excellent piece of history! P#J137 (Pick Number J137).

Manchukuo was a Japanese-controlled puppet state in northeast China from 1932 to 1945. The state was dissolved after Japan's loss in WW2. The state played a crucial role in Japan's actions during the Second World War.

This rarer note printed towards the end of the Second World War is an excellent piece of history and makes for a great addition to any collection!
