Este listado es para el botón fotografiado de uniforme de la Marina de los Estados Unidos (USMC) de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Emitido por la compañía Horstmann en Filadelfia. Este botón es de una edición más pequeña y probablemente se usó en un sombrero o puño en lugar de un abrigo. La parte frontal de este botón muestra un águila posada sobre un ancla diagonal con 13 estrellas a lo largo del borde superior. La marca trasera de este botón dice "Horst/Phila", una versión más corta de la marca trasera "Horstmann/Phila" que se usó desde 1893 hasta que la compañía cesó su producción en 1935. El botón tiene aproximadamente 1/2" de largo. ¡Excelente condición, gran pieza de historia!
La firma Horstmann fue establecida en 1816 por William H. Horstmann, un inmigrante alemán. A mediados del siglo XIX, Horstmann era un proveedor líder de artículos militares, produciendo botones, espadas y otros equipos para las fuerzas armadas de EE. UU.
