Este listado es para la ficha de amor antigua fotografiada. Encontradas en todo el mundo, las fichas de amor son monedas que han sido retiradas de la circulación, lijadas hasta quedar lisas en al menos un lado, y grabadas a mano con letras y/o símbolos que representan un sentimiento particular.
En el apogeo de su popularidad a finales del siglo XIX, las fichas de amor estaban de moda en los Estados Unidos y Gran Bretaña. En América, la Guerra Civil (1861-1865) trajo sufrimiento y pérdida a casi todas las familias. Tal dolor hizo que los estadounidenses fueran más conscientes de la fragilidad de la vida; y, posteriormente, más sentimentales. Durante el mismo período en Inglaterra, la Reina Victoria popularizó las joyas que revelaban y expresaban sentimientos de amor y dolor. Su estilo de moda fue pronto adoptado y practicado por aquellos en Gran Bretaña y en el extranjero. En la intersección de la sentimentalidad y la nueva moda, la popularidad de las fichas de amor despegó.
